Yoga with Abigail

Yoga has been a constant companion to me throughout my life. I first picked up a yoga book at the age of 14, and committed to a regular practice from the age of 22. There weren’t many yoga classes at that time, so I practiced with a yoga video at home, until I could find a teacher.

Since then, I have practiced many different styles of yoga - ashtanga, anusara, buddhist, yin, power, dynamic, somatic, Bikram, kundalini, vinyasa, and restorative, while my teacher training was Classical Hatha Yoga. My classes draw on elements of all these, depending on what you need. I don’t believe in a one size fits all approach, we all come to our mats with different life experiences and different bodies, so I guide you to a practice that suits you.

From my background as a professional musician, I am also influenced by the Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais lessons, that assist us to better understand how we function and move.

I’m much more relaxed and feel less stressed, I’m able to switch off. My breathing is definitely less shallow than it was. Balance, strength and flexibility have all improved.

Yoga for Singers and Musicians

I offer a space where people can explore with gentle curiosity, how we move, how we breathe, and how our bodies create their own resonance. I also explore what we can do to support our resilience in the coming months. And as a natural counterpart to music and singing, I am studying how a combination of all three threads can be woven to create a holistic and dynamic approach to integrating body and voice.

Yoga for Special People

Yoga is more than just getting into shapes. Meditation, mindfulness, sound and breath can do so much to support people living with complex needs.

The flow and also your unique teaching style concentrating on self care and
non-competitiveness has enabled me to reconnect again with yoga after knee surgery. I love the description you use to help get into the poses too.
