“Finally, I’ve understood the importance of giving some time to myself.”
General Classes Online
Tuesday’s class is a deeply restorative class, to help with fatigue and burnout. We explore a range of traditional asana (yoga postures), breath work, meditation and somatic experiencing. It offers a deeply relaxing space for you to get back in to your body and is an oasis of calm if you have a stressful job or need some time to get away from it all. Once a month there is an extended session to include a Yoga Nidra, which is a longer meditative restful practice to reset your energy. We are a warm and friendly group, and new members are always welcome.
Friday’s class is for those wanting a little bit of fire to start the day, but still suitable for beginners, intermediates, and those who are old hands, but looking for a gentle class. We work through pilates inspired core work, and move into traditional postures to build strength and stability in the muscles of the arms and legs.
I explain all the work we do slowly and systematically, and give options for people who may be experiencing joint pain, recovering from surgery, or any other complications that life can bring. My classes are non competitive, and focus on self-care.
Classes held on zoom, on Tuesdays at 6.30pm and Fridays at 9.00am
Private Classes
Chanting
Chanting is a way of releasing stress, calming the mind, toning the voice, and developing breath awareness and capacity. A 40 minute class will include gentle stretches to waken the body, warm up the voice, and then chant together to increase overall well-being. Classes available 1:1 or you can make your own group.
Prices start at £40 for 45 minutes
Vocal Meditation
These classes are similar to chanting, but focus less on mantra and more on the somatic experience of humming, and toning. I use a range of sounds to support you to relax, and guide you through a series of vocal exercises to support vocal development and wellbeing. Humming can activate the vagus nerve, to take you in to the rest and digest area of your nervous system, and also stimulate the production of nitric oxide, which supports sinus health. These classes can be a wonderful balm to stress, for overthinking, and those wishing to vocalise through grief.
Class time can be 15-30 minutes, or combined with a yoga class. Price available on request, based upon what might suit you the best.
Yoga For Singers/Better Breathing
A 60 minute yoga class specifically designed for singers and those wanting to learn about how they breathe. We'll be working on opening the chest, shoulders and relaxing the neck, whilst also increasing lung capacity.
There will be a deep relaxation at the end of the practice to help with calming the nervous system, often over stimulated by the pressures of performing, and using our posture to support confidence and alignment.
This class is suitable for professional singers as well as beginners looking to integrate their voicework.
Prices start at £50 for 1:1 sessions
Yoga At Home
Private 1:1 sessions can be held in my home or yours, and designed around what you need to support your wellbeing. Classes can be fitness based or restorative.
Prices start at £50 for 1:1 sessions
“I think balance - both physical and mental are better, I am much more aware of what it takes to breathe! I generally feel much more centred after the sessions. ”
